We said goodbye to Meggie on Saturday morning. After endless baths this past week, we trundled her up into the car for the ride north. She loved sniffing the salt and mountain air mixing along the highway and was, admittedly, a bit insecure jumping out of the car and into the arms of strangers. However, they were gentle and kind, giving her lots of space to get used to them and the area. By the end some of the younger girls were walking her around the vast yard without us and she was clearly keen to explore. There are four other dogs (and she enjoys having dog friends), loads of space to run wide open, and many people keen to care for her well. Thank you so much for praying. The girls are doing very well with the separation, and I believe a large part of that was the kindness shown to them by her new family. They had banana cake and cookies ready to serve and settled in to listen to all their stories and instructions about Meggie. It’s the first massive goodbye, but we’ve got some bigger ones coming. God has been faithful in this small one, we know he will be equally faithful as we forge ahead.

Wonderful to see. Praying for all the goodbyes ahead for all of you. You are doing a blessed thing for your girls and we pray for yourselves as well as you prepare for this big transition.
