They said it flies
Surely it was just yesterday she was soft and squishy with her rooster hair, barely making a sound and sleeping lots. But no. It was six years ago! And that actually only lasted six months. As we celebrated her birth today, the conversation swung around to her name. It went something like this.
“My name, Willa, means silliness and funny and loud, right??”
“Well… no. And, truth be told, when we saw that name we loved it because it sounded steady, faithful, and calm.”
“Ohhhh. That’s nooot me.”
True, it’s not. She is loud and sometimes violent in expressing her love. She’s passionate, but determined when she chooses to be. We didn’t give her the name Willa for its meaning, but it does match her: resolute protector. She does do that.
And she’s 6. Time truly does fly, and here is a flow of pictures from her first six years on the Earth to prove it.

Willa today. She did school, and it was hard but rewarding. She had her fingernails painted, and now they sparkle and shine. She loved on Meggie, and her heart was full. We love her so hard.
