Currently Gemma is our reigning champ at making bland and boring photos come alive with a classic look that says, “This is awkward and I hate it.” We say, “Cheeeeese!!!” and she grimaces painfully. Or stares blankly. Or grimaces while staring blankly. Or, my personal favorite, the bemused and confused look. In most of these scenarios she’s actually having a grand time, but it just doesn’t translate to the camera.

Since our trip to America is hurtling towards us, we decided to start upping her tolerance for hair accessories. She loves this one, and so do we. Does her face say it??? No. Nooooo.We even took this picture at her request to send to Daddy at work and get his opinion (he loves… obviously). Vanities aside, we’re all so very excited as we make little preparations. Gemma talks at least a dozen times a day about seeing her cousins. Pray that we would focus well on the school and work tasks in front of us even as our minds daydream (a lot) about our upcoming trip back!
