Willa and the Piano
Last Saturday Willa proudly played five songs she chose to share from her first year and a half of dedicated pianoing. Even when she’s frustrated and has hit a wall with a particular piece, she often walks away from her practice having said a few loving words to the instrument. This is a bit new for me. I played piano as a kid, but I never loved it. She is able to enter that other world where musicians go… and not the musicians who are destined to be performers. The ones with and without natural talent who simply love to play. It’s been a joy to watch her grow and improve over the months, and it was special to see her share that with our team.

Hi LuAnn!!! Our group always gathers for a Thanksgiving meal that sometimes includes special treats from America. Never a turkey, though!! Here in PNG they do have similar times of thanksgiving for when the harvest comes in, but it’s different everywhere. There isn’t a set day the country gives thanks. However, they do have a holiday set aside for repentance.

I love you girl Willa even more now knowing she loves to play the piano. I has been my instrument over the years. I taught private piano for 38 years. I still play for my own enjoyment and also for Gerald and I to sing hymns when we have our devotions. Thanks for sharing this tidbit about Willa.
