They said this would happen

All young parents hear the old(er) parents encouraging and reminding them that time passes quickly, and soon it won’t all be so demanding. Well… still demanding, but in a different, less physical way. Young parents have a hard time imagining their days as anything other than feeding, cleaning, wiping, consoling, admonishing, feeding, laundering, feeding. It’s all so exhausting and lasts forever and will never not be this. Until it stops being that. Suddenly, you turn around and it’s not that anymore and all the things those old(er) parents told you would happen are happening.

Brian will return from a completely not-to-plan trip up to Madang tomorrow afternoon (provided Air Niugini cooperates). This trip has been just a bare bit over two weeks and relatively easy for all five of us. Now… some crazy stuff has happened here on the Cairns side, but the wildest incident ended up giving us a nice excuse to treat ourselves to some Krispy Kreme donuts! Other than that, it’s been smooth sailing. The girls help with laundry, cleaning, bathing the dogs, dishes, walking the dogs, and even cooking. It’s… too easy. Just too easy.

We’re so grateful for all your prayers over Brian’s latest trip and our time here without him. I’m also deeply grateful for your loving encouragement and support of the book! The girls are my biggest cheerleaders and have been such a help in giving me time to work while not needing all the aforementioned tasks done for them. Looking forward to having a whole family this weekend, so always appreciate prayers over the dicey air travel!!

As an extra picture, I’ve definitely loved our slow wake-ups and cuddles, bouncy puppies included, first thing in the morning!!

Continued prayers and also encouragement for the family that did not get to hear about the possible plans. But we know that God’s plans are better.
Also you comments on children growing up is so true. We have three girls (grandchildren) who are all now above the age of 18 and out learning what the Lord is leading them to do. Seems just yesterday they were babes. Also one grandson who is also 18.
God bless you and get Brian home safely.
