Practically local
- Being overwhelmed at the beauty of the rainbow that shows up outside our house
- Basking in the birds and butterflies that parade past our windows during school
- Laughing as two puppies bounce and tumble through the hallway
- Feeling unwell and having a doctor and hospital at the ready
- Attending a church that pushes us to get out and serve more while simultaneously loving on us
- Watching Brian thrive traveling and supporting Bible translation in the region
- Watching the girls thrive as they revel in the freedom of life here
- Our house and the fact that as I write this I’m hearing our latest guest make their way back “home” during a work trip to Cairns
We could go on and on about how the Lord answered prayer after prayer when he moved us down one year ago on May 8, but in honor of that date I’ll leave this list of eight. We celebrated the mile marker by taking the day off and visiting some of our favorite spots. Willa solidified her status as “born here, local here” by befriending the native wildlife (albeit at a zoo, but still… she’s clearly local).
We’re deeply appreciative of how you’ve supported us through prayer and finances in our transition out of Madang. What a wild and wonderful year it’s been! We can’t wait to see what the Lord has in store for us during our second Australian year. Good and bad, we know he’s faithful and just.

What a beautiful list of blessings. Reminds me of the book “One Thousand Gifts”. I am on my second list of 1000 and it is such a wonderful reminder of God’s gifts. Thanks for sharing and we see God’s hand on you and your family.
