All of us miss PNG in various ways and at various times. Over the last couple of months Willa has been mourning most acutely the dog we left behind. She was able to connect with our children’s department from Dallas and have a good Zoom session processing her feelings, but Ray had eyes on her beyond that. While the rest of us were thinking about what hobbies she’s into or what books or what types of toys we could get her for Christmas, Ray was coming up with a gift to minister to her heart. She went through all our old photos and found any with Meggie. Then she figured out how to print them through our local office shop and selected a photo album. Watching Willa unwrap that gift was a moment of pure love between sisters, one touched to receive and the other delighted to give.
We’re heading into 2025 focused on being a bit more like Ray. Seeing past the surface to find the needs of the hearts around us and creatively meeting those needs. What a picture of God’s love for us!

One of the themes of the old testament is remembering – remember I brought you out of Egypt, I fed you in the desert, I brought you to the promised land…. Remembering is important as it connects us with God’s grace and His provisions. Je me souviens – something we should consider more.
